# Privacy Policy for WAClean Storage Manager
**Last updated:** March 23, 2026
WAClean Storage Manager (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is an independent Android application for scanning, organizing, and cleaning WhatsApp-related media and files on a user’s device. WAClean Storage Manager is **not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp or Meta**.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the app processes, how that information is used, and what choices users have.
## 1. Summary
WAClean Storage Manager is designed as an **offline-first** app.
– Core file scanning, browsing, sorting, and cleaning are performed **locally on the device**
– The app does **not upload WhatsApp media or file contents to our servers**
– The app does **not require account registration**
– The app does **not use cloud sync for user files**
Some limited technical or billing-related data may be processed as described below, especially when users make or restore purchases through Google Play.
## 2. Information We Process
### A. Files and media on your device
To provide its core features, the app may access files and folders stored on your device, including WhatsApp-related media and documents that are available through Android storage permissions.
Examples may include:
– images
– videos
– audio files
– documents
– stickers
– statuses
– file names, file paths, sizes, timestamps, and similar metadata
This data is used only to power local features such as:
– storage scanning
– file categorization
– large file detection
– duplicate review
– recycle bin handling
– smart cleaning and auto-clean flows
**Your files and their contents are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to us for normal app use.**
### B. App settings and local app records
The app stores certain settings and records locally on your device to function correctly and improve usability.
Examples may include:
– selected language
– theme preference
– onboarding completion status
– storage access mode and related app settings
– recycle bin settings
– auto-clean preferences and schedules
– local notification preferences
– local notification history
– lifetime cleanup statistics
– local entitlement state for purchased features
These records are stored locally using app storage mechanisms such as SharedPreferences and secure local storage where applicable.
### C. Diagnostics stored locally
The app may store limited local diagnostic entries on your device when certain app errors occur. These records can include:
– error messages
– stack traces
– timestamps
– source labels for where the error happened
These diagnostics are used to help identify problems inside the app. In the current app architecture, these diagnostic records are stored locally on the device and are **not automatically transmitted to our servers**.
### D. Notifications
If you enable notifications, the app may schedule and display local Android notifications, such as:
– cleanup reminders
– auto-clean completion reports
– large file alerts
To support these features, the app may store notification preferences and recent notification history locally on your device.
### E. In-app purchase and billing information
If you purchase or restore premium features through Google Play Billing, the app may process limited purchase-related data such as:
– product ID
– purchase token
– package name
– entitlement status
– purchase validation timestamps
– subscription expiry information, when applicable
Google Play handles payment processing. We do **not** receive or store your full payment card details.
In some app configurations, purchase validation may also involve a dedicated billing verification endpoint operated by us or on our behalf. In that case, limited purchase metadata may be transmitted to that billing service strictly to validate purchases and determine premium entitlement status.
## 3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above only for legitimate app functions, including:
– scanning and organizing files on the device
– showing file categories, sizes, and cleanup suggestions
– operating recycle bin and auto-clean features
– saving user settings and preferences
– supporting local reminders and storage alerts
– enabling, restoring, and validating premium purchases
– maintaining app stability and diagnosing technical problems
## 4. What We Do Not Do
Unless explicitly stated otherwise in this Privacy Policy, WAClean Storage Manager does **not**:
– create user accounts
– require sign-in for core app use
– upload WhatsApp media or file contents to our servers
– sell user data
– use cloud storage for scanned files
– include third-party analytics or remote crash reporting in the current app architecture
## 5. Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent user data.
We may share limited information only in the following cases:
### A. Google Play Billing
When users make purchases, Google Play processes the transaction under Google’s own terms and privacy practices.
### B. Optional billing validation service
If purchase validation through a billing backend is enabled in the app build you use, limited billing data such as product ID, package name, and purchase token may be sent to the billing validation service and, from there, to Google Play services or APIs for purchase verification.
### C. Legal compliance
We may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, valid legal process, or governmental request.
## 6. Permissions
Depending on Android version and enabled features, the app may request permissions such as:
– storage and media access permissions
– all-files access on Android where needed for full local scanning
– notification permission
– vibration permission
– billing-related access through Google Play
These permissions are used only to support the app’s stated features. Users can deny or revoke permissions through Android settings, although some features may then become limited or unavailable.
## 7. Data Retention
Most app data described in this Privacy Policy is stored **locally on the device** and remains there until:
– you delete it inside the app
– you clear app data
– you uninstall the app
If billing verification through a server is enabled, limited billing validation records may be retained on that billing system for operational, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, or entitlement management purposes for a reasonable period.
## 8. Security
We take reasonable steps to reduce unnecessary data exposure by designing the app to work primarily on-device.
Examples include:
– local-first processing for file management
– local storage of settings and app state
– use of secure local storage for certain entitlement data where supported
However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
## 9. Children’s Privacy
WAClean Storage Manager is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through account registration or cloud profile systems.
If you believe a child has provided us personal information in connection with this app, please contact us so we can review the situation.
## 10. Your Choices
You may:
– revoke storage or notification permissions in Android settings
– disable app notifications
– clear app data from your device
– uninstall the app at any time
– avoid using paid features if you do not want purchase-related processing through Google Play
## 11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
